We offer Green Deal Advice Reports, Energy Performance Certificates and detailed heat loss calculations based on the Simplified Method in BS EN 12831, or a method based on the CIBSE Domestic Heating Design Guide.

Green Star Energy Solutions are a new company who are determined to build a reputation upon word-of-mouth recommendation from satisfied customers, and through our honest and clear approach when working with our customers. We will always deliver what we promise!

We currently specialise in specifying the most appropriate renewable energy systems based on your specific home, rather then a one-solution-suits-all approach – we will always seek to define and satisfy the property’s and customer’s specific needs.

We will provide you with the exact figures of what your potential income would be from the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) and Feed-in Tariff’s (FIT’s), as well as give you a very accurate projection of what your likely energy costs will be, projected over the period of the government incentives and beyond. This will enable you to compare the figures for different systems, the total value of the incentives they attract, new system running and maintenance costs, as well as payback times.

Our aim is to help you to select the most appropriate renewable energy system based on clear data, and to enable you to make well informed decisions as to which systems are best suited to you, and what the practical day to day implications are.

Through this approach, we hope to put you in control of ensuring that your move to renewable energy is the most cost effective long term solution, as well as one best suited to your lifestyle.

Our initial advice is free of charge, however for our fully detailed service, which includes in most cases, an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC), Green Deal Advice Report (GDAR) and a room by room heat loss calculation, we do charge modest fees which generally range between £75 to £275 plus VAT.

Once you know which system(s) are best suited to your requirements, you are then free to shop on the open market to find an MCS installer who can deliver your chosen system at the best price and standard.

In addition to our consulting service, we will be launching our MCS and RECC approved installation service in November 2014, where we will be offering a broad range of renewable technologies, including:

  • Ground Source Heat Pumps
  • Air Source Heat Pumps
  • Solar Photovoltaic Systems
  • Solar Thermal
  • Biomass

If and when you are ready to make a move into renewable technologies, we hope to compete for your business on a quality and cost basis.

Our services will include design, implementation, commissioning, groundwork and installation of a full range of renewable technologies, as well as any associated building works, planning permissions and building warrants – all fully managed in-house by our design team and engineers.

Green Star Energy Solutions aim to be market leaders in specifying, installing and commissioning high quality ecologically sustainable heating and energy systems.

Renewable energy subsidies & loans

The most relevant subsidies and loans are detailed below:

Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) for domestic properties

The UK government offers financial incentives for householders who install renewable heat technologies.

The Renewable Heat Incentive is just one of a range of renewable energy subsidies available for your renewable energy project. These schemes can make a huge difference to the feasibility of installing certain technologies, but can be quite complicated. We can help you ascertain what subsidies are available for you and then make any applications on your behalf as part of any renewable energy project.

The Feed-in Tariff

The Feed-in Tariff is a government scheme based on a German model, designed to promote and incentivise the installation of renewable energy systems that produce electricity, by paying people for every kilowatt they generate. This is applicable for solar PV and wind generation.

Renewable Heat Incentive for commercial properties

The Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) is a UK Government scheme set up to encourage uptake of renewable heat technologies among communities and businesses through the provision of financial incentives.

Home Energy Scotland renewables loan scheme

Interest free loans up to £10,000 from the Scottish Government are available for owner occupiers in Scotland who want to install a domestic renewables system or who wish to connect to a district heating scheme powered from a renewable energy source.
